Account Deletion
Last update: September 23, 2026
In accordance with Apple's requirement (App Store Review Guidelines 5.1.1(v)), you can delete your account directly from the application, without having to contact support.
How to delete your account
- Open Jyva and go to Settings.
- Select Delete my account.
- Confirm your request.
If you prefer not to delete your account but only retrieve your data, use Export my data in the same settings instead (GDPR right to portability).
Delete some of your data without deleting your account
You can delete individual items directly in the app, at any time:
- Workouts and programs, from your history and your programs list;
- Meals and hydration entries, from your nutrition log;
- Body measurements, from your progress;
- Friends, from the community section.
Usage statistics can be turned off in Settings → Usage data, and Apple Health / Health Connect access can be revoked in your phone's settings. For any other data (posts, avatar, a specific record), contact support — we delete it within 30 days.
What happens next
- Your request is recorded immediately: your profile, workouts and meals cease to appear in the community feed, search and rankings.
- Your personal data remains kept, without being used, for 30 days before being anonymized and permanently deleted from our active systems. A secured copy may remain for up to 60 additional days in our disaster recovery backups, never accessed outside of a restore incident — see the Privacy Policy for details.
- If you change your mind during this 30-day period, write to us by contacting support — we can cancel the deletion request as long as it has not been permanently processed.
What is deleted
- Your profile, login details, body measurements (height, weight, date of birth)
- Your workouts, meals, measurements, personal records
- Your progression photos (including associated files)
- Your friend requests and friendships
- Workouts you shared and your reactions on others' workouts
- Your strictly private programs (not public, never liked or forked by anyone else)
- Your previously generated data exports
What is not deleted, and why
- Your duels (Versus). A duel involves an opponent — deleting it would also delete their match history, which they did not ask for. Your username and avatar disappear from their history, but the duel itself remains visible to them.
- Your public programs adopted by others. If a program you published has been forked or liked by someone, it remains available (associated with an anonymized profile) rather than breaking someone else's community catalog.
- Subscription financial records. French law requires keeping accounting data for 10 years (Code de commerce) — they do not contain your profile or health data, only technical billing history.
Your subscription
Deleting your Jyva account does not automatically cancel your App Store subscription — the two are managed separately by Apple. Remember to cancel your subscription from your Apple ID settings if you do not want to be billed again (see the Terms of Service).
